Droniada is a robotics training ground, a technology competition, where students, young engineers, scientists, constructors, entrepreneurs meet on the one hand, and on the other hand - firefighters, military, secret and bipartisan services, local government and central administration representatives. The main organiser is a non-governmental organisation, the Micro-Macro Institute Foundation, of which I have the honour to be president. We are united by our belief in the possibilities of new ICT technologies, embodied by drones - flying robots.
Between 23.06 and 04.07.2021 at the airport in Kąkolewo near Ostrów Wielkopolski a technology competition was held. We were a partner of this event. Our man Wojciech Gruźliński acted as a Flight Director. The competition was at a very high level. After a few days we managed to select the winners of three competitions.
In the first competition, the AGH Drone Engineering team (AGH University of Science and Technology) won with 10 points and the Micromacro Institute Foundation Special Award of PLN 2 thousand. In the second and third - High Flyers - Academic Scientific Association (Silesian University of Technology). "Three Colours" the team finished with 26 points, while in the "Tree of Life" competition they scored as many as 43 points. As a result, the team received the first Main Prize of PLN 20,000, funded by the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) and two Special Prizes of PLN 2,500 each from the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Aviation.
The High Flyers team used a Yuneec drone.
