Designed for Tactical Operations

The latest generation of Elistair’s tethered drone, ORION 2 is an automated, powerful and highly portable tethered UAS designed for continuous aerial day and night surveillance over large areas. Continuously powered through its kevlar-reinforced micro-tether, ORION 2 is capable of operating for 24 hours continuously at 100 meters (330 feet) height with 2 kg of payload and extended detection ranges up to 10 kilometers.

ORION 2 acts as a push-button tactical tower for both day and night applications and is especially suited for military operations, special forces, law enforcement, public safety entities and private security.

Two level failsafe design

Orion 2’s internal structure is entirely secured by a two level failsafe architecture capable of enduring the any emergency situation. The system has double or triple redundancy at every level.

Automated Deployment

ORION 2 is automated from take-off to landing using T-Planner Mission Software. For specific missions requiring flexibility, it can be optionally piloted manually.

 

Intelligent Safety Battery

An intelligent safety battery ensures a power backup in case of power failure and allows a safe landing of the tethered drone. The battery is automatically charged in-flight.

Smart Parachute

Integrated into the airframe, the parachute automatically deploys as a last resort, this provide protection for the aircraft, the operators and any assets in the field.

 

Reliable Propulsion

Orion 2’s aerial persistence relies on very high longevity and user-swappable motors optimized for persistence. Hexacopter structure for redundancy and enhanced stability.

Secure Data Link

Continuous, unjammable communications through the Elistair Safe-T 2 micro-tether provides secure command and control. Transfer speeds of up to 200 mb/s means real time intelligence is supplied to the operator.

Mission Operation Software

T-Planner : Updated Version

Dedicated for tethered operations, T-Planner is an intuitive but powerful interface allowing the operator to focus on their mission rather than the flight. All data is fully controlled by the user.

Enter your required height for the mission and Orion 2 will automatically take-off and climb to the operating height. All safety procedures are automated.

T-Planner features digital stabilization, a map overlay of the drone’s location and camera POV. EO and IR images are streamed simultaneously.

Access to the IP based video stream allows external sharing of the video feeds such as streaming, processing, integration into third party software and VMS etc.
