DJI Matrice 4D is an advanced drone designed to work with the DJI Dock 3. With its robust construction, it is ideal for inspection missions and other demanding operations. It offers a long flight time of up to 54 minutes, a wide-angle camera with mechanical shutter, and a laser rangefinder, allowing for precise data collection even in challenging conditions. It can also be used independently of the dock, paired with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller. Its advanced navigation systems and intelligent features make it perfect for surveying, inspection, and monitoring tasks.
One of the key advantages of this drone is its set of high-end sensors, ensuring excellent image quality and precise detail capture in various conditions. The main wide-angle camera features a 4/3 CMOS sensor with a resolution of 20 MP, adjustable aperture f/2.8–f/11, and a mechanical shutter, allowing for sharp images without motion distortion. The Matrice 4D also includes a medium telephoto lens (70 mm) and a telephoto lens (168 mm), both with 48 MP resolution, which allow for detailed capture from long distances. Additionally, a laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1800 m supports accurate measurements and navigation in demanding environments.
Thanks to integration with DJI FlightHub 2 and DJI Dock 3, the Matrice 4D can leverage advanced AI capabilities that significantly boost automation and operational efficiency. After programming a flight path, the system can autonomously identify and record objects such as vehicles or boats. Intelligent change detection enables regular monitoring of specific areas, which is useful for environmental protection, disaster assessment, or infrastructure diagnostics. The drone also features Smart Track, allowing precise tracking of moving targets for real-time data collection.
DJI Matrice 4D offers up to 54 minutes of flight time and around 47 minutes in hover mode, enabling long missions without frequent landings. Its IP55-rated body protects it from water and dust, making it suitable for use in harsh weather conditions. The drone is also equipped with an anti-icing system on the propellers, allowing stable operation even in freezing rain.
The drone can be equipped with an additional obstacle detection module that uses LiDAR and electromagnetic waves (1–10 mm wavelength). This enables it to precisely detect and avoid even small objects, such as power lines (at speeds up to 15 m/s). As a result, operational safety increases, and navigation in challenging environments, such as power line inspections, becomes more efficient.
The Matrice 4D series is equipped with advanced image recording systems that ensure high detail regardless of lighting conditions. Advanced optics and specialized sensors allow precise representation of the environment, enabling accurate terrain tracking both during the day and at night.
Matrice 4D is equipped with telephoto lenses and an advanced foreground stabilization system, enabling precise capturing of distant objects. This makes the drone perfect for detailed inspections, structural analysis, or damage identification — an ideal tool for construction, the energy sector, or engineering.
DJI Matrice 4D supports oblique and orthophoto photography functions, allowing precise terrain rendering. Intelligent flight path planning enables fast and effective geodetic data collection, resulting in higher measurement accuracy and better area modeling.
The drone is equipped with DJI Relay transmission technology, ensuring stable signal even in areas with limited coverage, such as mountains or densely forested regions. This makes the Matrice 4D ideal for search and rescue missions and infrastructure inspections in hard-to-reach locations.
